Question on face makeup..liquid or powder or both?

ok well first of all im a guy and yes i do wear face makeup just to cover up my blemishes. that being said im looking for something that looks natural and not overboard or cakey or anythin like that. currently ive been using regular loreal true match liquid and powder foundation and i think it just looks like toooooo much. not to mention it can make my face breakout at times. So im looking to improve that and hopefully find something that i can use less of and just get the coverage i need. i think im gonna buy a designer makeup either chanel dior or mac because i heard its the best. im just wondering what i should get. any specific products? Do i need to get liquid foundation and powder or would one be enough if so which? keep in mind i dont want it too look like too much. but if you can help me at all...please do, im lost when it comes to what products to buy.. thanks.

Question on face makeup..liquid or powder or both?
the foundation your using is perfectly fine, in fact it competes with the best designers as well, its probably how your applying it and the foundation your using is too thin for acne coverage and no matter what foundation you use it will always be noticeable. try a thicker formula or concealer and dust a powder over it with a powder brush (go to the art store and get a "mop brush" or go to the drugstore and get a powder brush), do not use a puff with powder, it will make it look heavy. on my clients i use a thick concealor than comes in a compact (revlon/neutrogena has one), stay away from the ones in sticks since it has ingredients that will make it worst.

mineral makeup is fine, but you have to apply a heavy amount to get good coverage, just apply a thicker formula only the the problemed areas and dust it with powder
Reply:i use liquid only but it comes off easily...i would use both
Reply:I don't like liquid, because it sinks into your pores and creates pimple. Maybe that's just me, but I defitnately prefer the powder.
Reply:i would stick to just liquid b/c both gives that caked on look. the brand shoudnt matter too much if you match your skin tone right. i've always used cover girl. try mixing your foundation in the morning with a facial lotion and put it on that way (i always put about a dimes worth or less of foundation and a little less lotion and mix the two). it will cover well but it'll look lighter and less noticeable, plus your face will stay moisturized and your pores won't get as clogged! :)
Reply:um i use cover girl blemish hider called fresh complexion it's only about 5 dollaroos and is awesome i have very dry skin too and usually make up is cakey too but this one works pretty well for the price
Reply:well a lot of make up companies are coming out with the mineral coverage which is suppose to have great coverage and improves your skin while you wear it and it looks very natural and lets your skin breathe.
Reply:bear minerals

they are thee best

they look really natural on

it will probably help the break outs too

you can get it at ulta

i recommend you don't get the starter kit

because it comes with blush and bronzer...

something that i don't think you need

haha
Reply:Women can tell if a man is wearing makeup. Have you seen ever seen Zac Efron? I hope you dont wear as much as he does.
