Why do face washes and exfoliating face washes bring spots out?

when i was younger i used to leave makeup on n my skin was always glowing, never ever got spots. Since i have started to wash make up off and use face washes, i get spots regulary! anyone know why?

Why do face washes and exfoliating face washes bring spots out?
thats all the dirt from over the years coming out your skin now.. they come in the form of spots the friction of the rubbing causes the pore to swell and become infected with the dirt.Keep going though eventually youll get rid of the dirt
Reply:Sometimes cleansers and exfoliaters strip your skin of oil to prevent spots. However, your skin's natural reaction to this is by producing more oil!! Hence, you end up with even oiler skin, which is possibly the reason for your spots?
Reply:its the dirt under the paws of your skin
Reply:It may not be because of washing your face it, it may be you age now that your older you may be getting spots because of increase in hormones. But it may possibly be that your washing your face to much and your rinsing away naturaul oils so your skin is more greecy producing spots.

To get rid of the spots follow these tips and you shoud have glowing skin:

- Eat healthily

- Wash your face at least once a day

- Don't wash your face more than twice a day

- Wash make up off at night

-Use a natural face wash with no fragrances or perfumes.

- Apply a small amount of vinegar or perfume to get rid of spots. But I can't gaurantee it will work for everyone.

Good luck! =]

Reply:To Much Alkaline In The Product
Reply:maybe the ones you are using are to harsh for your skin causing a reaction. also don't exfoliate too often as strips skin of natural oil
Reply:i no wot u mean that has happened to me before although sum allergiv reactions can come out as bumpy spots so it cud b that...if not try using the face wash every other day and just using warm water on the other days soap can dry out your face so i'd recommend just water on the days that you dont use the wash
Reply:Nevermind the product. Think "hormones"

Then check that you are using the right type for your skin.

Dry/combination or Oily? Make sure it matches your skin. If you are getting spots could it be because you need one for Oily Skin?
Reply:Aparently if you over exfoliate is scrubs off the natural oils on the face causing spots, I used to use an exfoliating scrub every day - I stick to a mild liquid soap from Clinique now and my skin is great.
Reply:i own my own beauty salon and people ask me this question all the time.

some peoples skin doesn't agree to water it depend on the area you live in.(i can tell you now any water on my skin brings me up in so many spots.)

people think that the more they wash their face the cleaner and better their skin will be but be assured your skin will produce more sebum to protect it thus making it greasier. your skin needs a certain amount of sebum and the more you strip it the more it will produce. my advice is to use baby wipes or skin care wipes and a moisturizer. ( even if you have an oily skin you need to replace the moisture to stop an over protection of the skin. check out what moisturizer is best for you. exfoliate once a week to remove dead skin and follow your skin care routine everyday. to dry up spots apply toothpaste its great and cheap. please be patient this will take at least a month to improve it will not happen over night.

Reply:Did you know that if you leave your make-up on over night it sinks deep into your skin and it actually take 28 days for it to resurface. Thats why you should remove your make-up ever night.

As for getting spots after using face washes, depends on your skin type. There are different face washes for different types of skin. If you have oily skin, or dry skin you will need a product suitable for it.

In my opinion the best place to go to is the body shop they have some brilliant products which will suit you, and they will be a lot more honest with you and actually sell you a product thats right for you, whereas these large dept stores with the beauty countrs will try and sell you the most expensive prodct which is probably no good for you...

I found that the warming mineral mask from the body shop is a great pick me up for your face if you are suffering with spots, it draws out all the impurities in your skin and it feels warm when you put it on, excellent product if I say so myself.....
Reply:if the spots are showing up right after you exfoliate, it's because you are making the blood come to your face and kind of "waking" your skin up, the spots usually fade after a little while, if you'ore getting more blemishes or something since starting using face wash, i'm not sure
Reply:Hi my skin is exactly the same, I never used to us facial washes and even slept in my make up and only rinsed with water but then when I got older I though we were suppose to cleanse tone exfoliate and moisturise, so I got loads of stuff in and then my skin was breaking out in spots all over the place, and then I use more stuff to get rid of them and now they have never got.

I think its the chemicals and things in the face washes and moistursers that clogg the pores and makes skin worse, If I dont use face washes etc on my face I get no spots what so ever my spots go but I feel unclean.

I have tried every face wash and facial cream and moisturiser out there and nothing suits my skin type except tap water lol/

I have at the moment had an out break of spots form using a frangrance free facial wash, and using a fragrance free face scrub 2 time a week and now my skin is all spotty and dried out. I think our skin is just too sentive.

I now went and spent loads in the body shop on there Aloe Vera range for sensitive skin. the consultant said it works for her spots so Ill give it a go. I have it on at the moment and so far so good, if I have spots in the morning that will be another product I cant use
