Do you use sunblock on your face while tanning?

I want to know if it would make sense to use sunblock on my face or a moisturizer on my face while tanning? I know it won't get any color, but I don't want my face to age later in life because of this bad habit, and couldn't I just use foundation to make my tan body match my pale face? Do you do this?

Do you use sunblock on your face while tanning?
YES and YES you should. In the warmer months I always use sunscreen, SPF 50 or higher, and I still tan pretty strong, even though im not trying 2, but anyway, if you're concerned with damaging your skin, sunscreen is vital because it blocks the harsh UV rays that are responsible for aged skin. Sunscreen however usually wont stop you from tanning, it doesnt on me anyway.

Make sure you get a type of sunscreen with both UVA and UVB protection and apply it several times throughout the day. Also remember that contrary to popular belief, higher SPF doesnt mean it protects you more, it only means you can go longer before re applying it.

Hope this helps
Reply:You are on the right track. ALWAYS use either sunscreen or sunblock on your skin before spending any time in the sun. I got one of the worst, uneven tans of my life, sitting around my Aunt's pool down in West Palm Beach one year.

My forehead and chin tanned and everything in between did not. When my esthetician saw my face when I went to get a facial after returning from vacation, she was horrified at the damage that I had done to my skin.

It took me a year-and-a-half for my complexion to become even again, and ever since then I don't go out in the sun even for a minute without sunscreen.
