Does burning face wash mean it's working? ?

I use cetaphil. Actually I wanted to try it because I heard it was really gentle on your face. So, when I went to my dermatologist's I got a sample. It was "for all face types". I started to really like it, and it didn't burn or anything like that. Then I went to the store after I started to run out like a week later, and I got the "normal to oily" kind. Now whenever I use it, it sort of burns. I always thought that I had oily skin.

Now, the million dollar question is, does the burning mean that it's working?? Like a no-pain-no-gain type of thing? Or should I go back to the regular type??

Thanksss

Does burning face wash mean it's working? ?
no it means its irritating your skin.

it should not burn. tingling, like the feeling you may get from a medicated face wash, is ok, but not burning.

i used neutrogena once. it burned. and then it dried my face out and made it feel all tight.

i think you should stick with the kind you used to use.

good luck :)
Reply:If it feels tingly for a few seconds it should be ok, but if your skin is red after and it really BURNS then its too strong for your skin
Reply:If it's burning.. it's irritating your skin and will eventually dry it out, making it worse then it was before
Reply:Cetaphil is popular because it doesn't burn sensitive skin. If the kind you purchased does, then you are using the wrong formula. Try buying the kind that is for all skin types. Also, make sure that you haven't bought the generic formula trying to save a little money.

I use Cetaphil but my skin cannot tolerate the generic, it burns my skin especially around my mouth every time.
Reply:It's irritating your skin. It should feel like it's tickling your skin but it shouldn't burn your face. You should go back to the regular type if it's itchy or really burning your skin.
Reply:No, acid burns too, doesn't mean it's good
Reply:i think you should go back to the other type. most likely your face cant take it and it is getting irritated.
Reply:if it hurts go back to the other kind
