Pulling my face hair !?

i have this problem that when i get nervous or irritated i keep pulling the hair in my eyelashes and eyebrows, also when the weather is too hot. This causes me a lot of embarassing suituations from people asking me "where are your eye lashes?" or "what's wrong with your eyebrows?". i hate the shape of my eyes and brows, doing this makes my face look ill and pale, although i have a nice face. I feel miserable everytime i do this. i tried to stop this habit by every way i know but no results.

i don't suffer phsycological problems, but i heard this may be one?

is that true?

what can i do?

Pulling my face hair !?
See your doctor
Reply:take a doll with you and do it too her or take like a little piece of cloth and rub on it. i saw it on a show once. it works.
Reply:Yes, you're pretty messed up. You need help. I have the same problem, but with my toe nails. My boss is always walking in on me without my shoes on. I gets pretty embarrassing. But not as embarrassing as walking out without any eyelashes!! hahahahahaahahahahah. You must look pretty stupid. Moron.
Reply:doctor please
Reply:According to the reading I have done regarding hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) the brain, when it senses that blood sugar is low, will do sometimes strange things to get the blood sugar (glucose) out of storage and into the blood stream. Adrenaline is one sure way to do this. If pulling your facial hair out and the pain that results causes you to get an adrenaline rush, then low blood sugar is probably the cause. It might be that the "attention" you get is stimulating your adrenaline.

Suggestion? The next time you catch yourself pulling your hair, go to the kitchen and get some protein, meat, a can of tuna or whatever, and eat it. Also have some carbohydrate, like a handful of chips, or some carrots/celery and some nuts or peanut butter. Eat at least 2 ounces of the protein. Then drink a glass of water. Take snacks with you if you find yourself doing this at work. Then do something else for 30 minutes, especially something vigorous, if possible. Singing and laughing are good. You may find your need to pull your hair has lessened a bit.

Chronic low blood sugar can also cause self-esteem problems, anger management problems and a whole bunch of other physical and mental nasties. You may want to check out the symptoms link on www.hufa.org, and see how you check out.
Reply:Hi, I just happened to come across this article and I think you may have a psychological problem. There's an article and maybe you can reasearch more about it from there.

Reply:you do suffer psychological problems it's an anxiety disorder caused by nervousness

Reply:when u be norvous jst bit your hand not soo hard but if you was soo angrey bit anything hard or take a bit breath and count from 1-10 before you do anything
Reply:You need help, fast. This is a form of self-mutilation. Please speak to a professional about it. I wish you well. Bright blessings.
Reply:You have to divert your attention from your problem. Don't feel nervous or irritated - try to build confidence in yourself by taking help of professional.
Reply:I used to do it, try these things(they worked for me):

1) Try to figure out what stresses you out. Generally it's what causes that particular behavior and attempt to minimize your exposure to it.

2) If you can't eliminate that particular stressor, then attempt to find ways to relieve yourself of that stress. Try listening to Classical music. If you don't like classical music, try the Trance Genre. (this worked well with me) Some artist of trance for you to look up are: Paul Van Dyk, Adam Sheridan, Above %26amp; Beyond, and others. Here is a site that has some good reccomendations,

3) Try some yoga or some type of martial art (ie Tai Chi, Pilate's, ect) that works also.

4) If those above don't work, then I recommend a doctor, but as a last resort. I'm not saying the doctor is bad, but stress is normal in life, but you shouldn't get medicated over a little stress.

Hopefully these tips will work for you. My mom is a Behavior Analsyst and she tried to put me on medication for my "stress and tension." I told her to give me 2 months to get better, and if I couldn't then she could put me on medication. I tried those above and those worked well for me. So at least try what you think would interest you. Hopefully things will turn out well for you.
Reply:Substitute something else for pulling the hair. Get a stress ball, or tie knots in a string. You'll have to concentrate on it for a long time to break the habit.
