Some put a personal face on God, some an impersonal, but neither have seen the face of God, yet . . .?

We have examined different religious beliefs,

some say its a personal God, others an impersonal God,

which is the true God,

and the "face", please spare me the fundamentalist Christian rhetoric no one has seen the face of God, you are the ones saying you have the relationship with Jesus.

Much prefer anyone who "loves Jesus" would just never answer my questions anyway.

Some put a personal face on God, some an impersonal, but neither have seen the face of God, yet . . .?
I call god Carl. It makes him more personal.
Reply:Carl is pretty secure. He frowns upon accolades. Report It

Reply:Jacob saw the face of God. Read Genesis 32:30. Also Jesus is the face of God- He is the manifestion of all who God is- I don't really understand your question.
Reply:THE true God? That is a dangerous question and it is why there all fighting. THere fighting and they even have the same GOD.

I just know what works for me and if I saw the face of my God as I understand GOD my head would explode Beacuse MY God A I understand God is Beyond all opposites beyond time itself there is no way I could see it In this universe when these Physical laws appy such as Gravity and all concepts of opposites.

Go read Joseph Cambell the Hero with a thousand faces

THere fighting over what cannot be told none of there fighting has anything to do with God. Just because they say it does.

when i was young

every night i would go to bed scared , and i would feel something around me that comforted me

then i would see this greyish cloud with eyes ( you know im mad anyway ) lol

but i have always remember this , more for the feeling than the face thing

and to me this is God

that comfort in a way that you need it

put a face to it / dont put a face to it

it doesnt matter
Reply:Clearly the Christian faith should call for a personal God. After all, he appears in the form of a burning bush, Moses must shield his eyes to avoid seeing his face, and Abraham talks to him mono-e-mono regularly.

I would call that the "mythology" God.

The distant God, the one that is some kind of vague deistic notion of infinity, I call the "philosophical God".

The two are totally unrelated.
Reply:Jesus is God
Reply:I can't imagine what God looks like.... Moses said it was bright light.
