I'm looking for a good lotion for your face to cause pimples?

I am a 21 year male have a few pimples. I'm trying to cut down on them. I wash my face in the morning and evening when I go to bed with a clean and clear product that has no oil in it. I used to use soap but it just dried up my face too much. So after I wash my face , I am asking should I put a lotion on my face to moistureize it, or just leave it alone. My face just feels dry all the time for my whole day. Whats a good product to put on you face that won't make you break out?

I agree with the other guy. Proactiv. If that doesn't work, try the ladies counter at the mall of any department store to see what kind of moisturizer they have, and if that still doesn't work, you could try clinical trials and get paid to have your acne removed. And if none of that sounds good, see a derm doctor.
Reply:You need a toner and a lotion of some kind. Use hypo-allergenic products. If you have money I like L'Occitaine and they have a men's line. There are a lot of other ines out there. The toner should not have alcohol in it.

The moisturizer should be specifically for the face.

To get rid of the pimples use straight tea tree oil. Just dab it on each pimple two or three times a day. You can get it at The Vitamin Shoppe, GNC, or about any health food store. Even Wild Oats has it, I think. And Wild Oats is an organic food store.

Tea Tree Oil can be used straight with no dilutants. Australia did research on it and found it was as effective as any of the stop acne products on the market. It's also mild and non-irritating.

Back to the washing your face. My husband has oily skin and he always did what you did. A skin consultant once explained that by not moisturizing he was, in essence,

requiring his skin to produce more oil. He now uses a toner (it doesn't have to be expensive--it just restores the proper pH balance) and a moisturizer. His skin does a lot better and is less oily.

Reply:Oh - I thought you wanted to CAUSE pimples...that what you're ? says! Anyhow - I use Oil of Olay sensitve skin everyday. I also break out becuase I have sensitive skin. This is light, has sunscreen and doesn't have a girly smell :). Sounds like you are washing your face too often. Try just water and clean clothe before bed, no soap. Sometimes if your skin is too dry, it overproduces oil on its own, cloggin the pores and causing breakouts! Also - always look for non-comunigenic (spelling?) products. Good luck
Reply:i would suggest if that product makes your skin dry then it may not the best think for you. try a softer lotion or even a product that is made from tea tree oil. be kind to your skin.

i know that loreal have a great range of men's products that are good fro your skin. a good cleanser would not give you pimples
Reply:olay is good
Reply:It sounds like you have combination skin (i.e. oily in parts and dry in others). You could try a product designed specifically for this, any chemist will have them. Secondly, it is generally agreed that skin should be kept mouisturised but on oily skin, only to a minimum. It sounds as though the product youre using is too harsh for your skin type, stripping all the oil and mouisture away, hense the dry and, im guessing, tight feeling. Maybe it contains alcohol? Very often products designed for oily skin (spot creams etc) contains alcohol and other harsh chemicals, stripping away even the good oils our skin produces. Maybe try a product for sensitive skin? Or a natural product without all the chemicals and perfumes. To mousturise your skin, choose a very light, non greasy mouisturiser. Most brands have these types, and companies like Loreal do ones especially for men. 'Simple' products also claim to be natural, without chemicals and perfumes, maybe you could try these? Also remember not to touch your face too much throughout the day, this can cause an excess of grease, causing spots. Good luck.
Reply:AVOID soap! It just dries your skin. Instead use soap-free products pref. an antibacterial ones (ask local pharmacy). If you have dry skin, use Sorboline Creme with Vitamin E and Glycerine - it's far more better than other expensive lotions and it also helps cleanse and balance your skin's moisture.
Reply:i actually don't recommend provactiv, it works for some people, it didn't work for me though.
Reply:Proactiv is good but you cannot stop using it. eg. if you miss a day you break out straight away.

Yes you should use a moisturiser with sunblock in it, a good one would be happy derm - Loreal or Olay - combo skin.

There is no difference between male or female products.
Reply:Clearasil medicated daily face wipes. Throw out the soap, it's too drying as you found out. Wash with water each morning then use medicated face wipe. It's convenient %26amp; easy to do.

Don't be conned by expensive products that promise miracles!
Reply:I sell Mary Kay and we have an oil free moisturizer for sensitive skin and one for normal/combination, go to marykay.com and order it off the net! Take care!
